Two laboratories at the Department of equipped with all necessary instruments to perform organic reactions in controlled atmosphere, at high pressure and/or at low temperature, under microwave irradiation and for parallel synthesis.
Characterization of the synthesized compounds can be conducted with the following instruments available at the CIM (Director Prof. G. Costantino):
Single-quadrupole mass spectrometer “LC/MS API150EX with ESI and APCI interfaces (Applied Biosystem)
Analytical and preparative HPLC, FT/IR, instrument for elemental analysis (ThermoQuest (Italia) FlashEA 1112 Elemental Analyzer) and polarimeters. Moreover, the laboratories are equipped with a Sirius PCA200 (Sirius Analytical Instruments), a semi-automated instrument for the measurement of pKa, log P and log D.
