Over a half century since the description of the first antiviral drug, viral pathogens, including “old” re-emerging viruses and “new” emerging viruses still represent a serious threat for global health which is worsen by enhanced globalization and climate changes. Our research group is deeply involved in the development of novel broad-spectrum antivirals using Target-oriented and Diversity-oriented approaches. Particular attention is paid to neglected viral diseases, such as Dengue, Enterovirus/Rhinovirus infections and Ebola.
